I have problem with my email since July 12 and people in my hosting company
are not helping me (a satisfied customer for over 2 years) at all. I used my
GMail account to send an email to my account and got the following in my
GMail inbox . Please let me know what I can tell those, so called , tech
people. I can send email from GMail to other addresses.

Thanks.

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

someadress RemoveThis @someserver.com

Technical details of permanent failure:
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 10): 550-wproxy.gmail.com [some IP

server
550-in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP Authentication turned on in
your

Thanks, Tina.

I get the samething if I send from Yahoo too. I have not received any email
from anywhere since July 14 and have not been able to send any email from my
domain since July 12. This is the case for all the email accounts on the
domain.

And with all due respect, it's indirectly your fault, Tina Smile

I believe they rely on blacklists and such to control some email issues.

"cowboys"? I know what a cowboy is, but I've never heard it used this way.
What does it mean, in this context?

That's odd, considering cowboys drive cattle across the range...and, as far
as I know, have nothing to do with business. It would be interesting to see
how that developed into something completely different.

In Northern Ireland, it's used for anybody who pretends to be better skilled
than they really are - also colloquially known as "chancers".

I rememebnr ad ad a few years ago in one of the local paers advertising for
various tradesmen for a new construction job; at the bottom of the ad was
the immortal line:

"NO COWBOYS NEED APPLY".

Wonder would that be allowed in today's pc world Smile

There are also cowboys at rodeos who do all manner of risky things. My
guess is the risk taking part of the meaning has been extended into
"dodgy". Cowboys can also be applied to certain users of the roads who
take risks.

"A bunch of cowboys" is also a quite commonly used expression in
Australia & NZ.

back to the lurk...
