Hi folks,

I am absolutly new with Linux and especially with Apache. I've set up Apache
2 on my Suse 8.2.
Further the needed mods are installed (mod_perl, mod_python, ...)

Apache responds on port 80. Index.html for example is shown when asked for
the web on the virtual server. But when I call a perl-file it won't
execute. Instead, the file is offerd for download. As anyone any idea what
is going wrong. I assume, that it's just a click or a little configuration,
but I have no ideas.

Have a nice weekend,

Holger

1. be sure that the file is executable
2. be sure that the file contains #!/path/to/perl as first line
3. be sure that the file is in the cgi-bin directory

What is the first line in the Perl script? Does it point to Perl?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
