I put it on my "ignore thread" list after a hundred or so posts, now I
see that of 111 items on the server only 5 came through... ie none of
the breakin' articles.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: dozens of posts to "cleaning up after a breakin" |

It's a bot of some sort trying to flood the group. I put the whole
thread on block yesterday morning.

Its an attack on another froup... You can thank Steve Sobol for cross
posting to here from
news.admin.net-abuse.email. He knows that a flooder has been hitting that
froup.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: dozens of posts to "cleaning up after a breakin" |

Yes, but I put it on ignore yesterday morning. Today there were just
over 1100 new messages in that thread, and Thunderbird was having
trouble downloading and deleting them on this poor little laptop!

As I mentioned, it's an attack against nanae. Probably about time to killfile
the thread anyhow. I apologize - I was the idiot who crossposted the thread to
both nanae and aww.

Not on my laptop, but there are tens of thousands of junk posts on nanae which
Thunderbird is having mounds of trouble with. Just killfile the thread...

I would not blame Steve for HipCrime's actions. NANAE is getting hit much
worse. Have to wonder why Giganews is letting it through while Supernews
and others are filtering it<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: dozens of posts to "cleaning up after a breakin" |

NIN, which is pretty good with filtering, doesn't seem to be, either.
I blocked it locally, yesterday, after finding almost 1700 new posts in
the thread in one...er...big gulp, only several hours after my last
download.

Yeah, sorry about that. I thought we needed a few extra posts in here to
test how fast my new PC can crunch the weekly stats.

Yes, me too. Over 1000 of them, including post by Charles that he has
"cancelled", most peculiar.
