Post subject: dllhost.exe hangs -- iisstate log
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Hello, All!

I recently posted a question about DLLHOST.EXE and the foxisapi.dll for
Visual FoxPro. All has worked fine for almost three years. After I installed
SP4 for Windows 2000, the DLLHOST.EXE sometimes hangs and is unable to load
the foxisapi.dll. The foxisapi.dll is designed to load a VFP COM server
(.EXE). If you like to know more about foxisapi.dll, go here:
http://www.west-wind.com/presentations/foxisapi/foxisapi.htm.
I found that the DLLHOST.EXE hangs every two or three days, but it's been
more than a week since the last crash. I have to kill the DLLHOST.EXE in the
taskmanager to get it working again. I was adviced by one of the MS people
here to create an IISSTATE dump and post it here. So here goes. I see one
foxisapi-thread dump, but I do not know what it means. I hope somebody knows
what's wrong with the system.

Thanks for any input.

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

It looks like we are waiting on RPCSS to finish helping with the object
instantiation. I think that you may be running into a COM+ bug and will
need to open a support incident to get the latest release.

PM> need to open a support incident to get the latest release.

Hi Pat,

Can you give me some directions on how to do this? I checked
http://support.microsoft.com/ but I am not sure how to open such support
incident. And what exactly do I have to report? The complete IISSTATE log?
Sorry for being ignorant.
