Hi,

I would like to put a little mpeg movie (to use with Windows Media player)
onto our website.
I have a 6GB AVI file (captured from my MINI DV camera) here. What program
converts this file to a small mpg file for website purpose?

Secondly- I have a web camera near the beach and would like to upload live
shots onto our server for live viewing.
Are there any specific programs to use or what would be the best option?

Thank you for any help.

No specific, just a webcam software that can upload photos to your webspace
directly, or that contains an image server (depending on how "live" you want
it).

Two good software packages:

No problem.

For your first question: RealMedia has a program called RealProducer
somewhere at <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.real.com" target="_blank">www.real.com</a>

For mediaplayer it is always quite uncertan what codec you should use. Most
have MPEG4 installed, but not everyone. DivX seems to be marketleader but
many (like me) don't install it because of the Gator stuff that comes with
it.
