Archived from groups: alt>freewebhosting (more info?)

I know this is kinda off-track, but with all the free webhosting around, I
haven't found a single provider that comes with a MySQL database. Yes, I've
seen places offer the ability to run PHP scripts, but not with a MySQL
database.

Last week, after a Google search on free MySQL database access, I
encountered this one:
http://www.freesql.org/

If you already have access to PHP programming on a free hosting account,
this surely has to be a perfect addition, right? Or does anyone know of a
reason not to use this service?

Personally, I haven't had much use for signing up, as I already use two
different (paid) hosting accounts that already comes with MySQL databases
(just not access from an outside location).

So please do provide pros and cons about this service before I recommend it
to anyone else. I want to hear from someone who's already using it, or has
tried it for themselves.

I couldn't find anything negative (or positive, really) via Google...so that
is probably a good sign. You should read the top of their main page though,
where they talk about some problems they've had recently. However, you have
to overlook some things - since they are offering free database hosting.

I just came across this company
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://themooseisloose.net/freewebfeatures.html" target="_blank">http://themooseisloose.net/freewebfeatures.html</a> which offers free hosting
and includes 5 MySQL databases as well as FrontPage extensions in the free

Staghost has never given me any trouble, so you readers should always
signup at a free web host and have yourself look. Dont rely other
peoples' oppinions because they could be in error.
