Hey,

I own a small web hosting business. Currently our TOS forbid anyone from
using their web space/bandwidth to host pornographic sites. We have had a
couple number of customers now that would of signed with us if we allowed
pornographic sites. Are there any consequences myself or my business may
suffer from allowing porn sites on our servers? I am thinking that it may
lead to be targeted for hackers and such.

Anyways, please explain any consequences that may occur from hosting porn
sites.

THanks,
Dan

The strain on resources and bandwidth will be challenging for you.

Pros -High bandwidth use and increased income
Cons - Potential loss of existing clients who do not want to be nearby,
additional costs for server issues<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

And porn sites are more likely to be associated with other bad things:
spamming, warez, etc which could have serious consequences for all the
clients (if the IP block is blacklisted, for example).

IMO if you do so you should keep the adult sites separately from the,
err, other sites. Perhaps even set up a different trading name/website
to keep everything quite separate (although would could still link
between the sites, through ads, etc).<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
