Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration (more info?)

Hi,
my problem is:
I'm running apache 1.3.27 without any problems.
Now I'm trying to run Apache 2 (on WINDOWS XP). It installs, it runs, the
ping is successful - but it doesn't connect when I type http://localhost
(while ping localhost succeeds).
I used the same configuration options as before - what has changed.

Thanks for Your answers

Frank

If you installed Apache2 as a user then you have to install the service
separately, which is required. Look at your list of services and see if
you see "Apache2." If not then run "apache -k install"

Thanks - but it doesn't help!
Services is running and showing "green light".
If I try to run "apache -k install" I get an error message "Apache already
installed" - any other idea welcome ...
