Post subject: Can not configure server extensions
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Hi there,
I'm running IIS 5.0 on XP Pro, and I'm trying to install server extensions
so I could create a web project. When I right click on the default web site
(under IIS manager), I don't see my web server listed under Web Servers. I
tried uninstall/reinstalling IIS but that didn't fix the problem either.
Does anybody know what might be causing this?

Thanks,
Gilgamesh

First, you won't see the web server listed below the default site, the
server is a higher level. Beyond that, in XP Pro, you only get a
single site, so either delete the default site or configure your
extensions on it.

I'm trying to configure the extensions using All Tasks->Configure Server
Extension which is accessed by right clicking on the default web stie. When
you do this, you get a wizard which asking you to select a web server from a
list. I do not get any web server on the list and that's why I can not
procees with installing the server extensions.

Thanks,
G.
