Hi

Does anyone have any idea how much you could charge for a direct
referral to a business from an info site?

For example, if you give details about MBA programs and then have
details about an institution running the program in the user's area,
then have the user fill in a form for 'more information', how much is
the going rate that the insitution would pay to receive this request
for more information?

Thanks.

Whatever it's worth to them. Do they normally buy leads? What's the going
rate?

There are other sites currently sending them leads so either they are
buying the leads or they are paying a flat-fee to receive whatever
leads are sent. I assume they are buying the leads rather than the
flat-fee but of course I have no way of knowing.

Do do you suggest I send them an email and ask them how much they are
paying for a lead? There are a couple of hundred of them so I suppose
one might reply to me. If people sent me a similar question I would
not answer truthfully because that would be against my best interests.
I might give it a go though as there seems to be no other way of
finding out.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

You could just ask them if they buy leads or maybe they want to buy
advertising pay per click on your site.

I would try to find out what other sites sell similar leads for. I know from
filling out the spamvertised mortgage forms, to see who is buying the leads,
that the mortgage brokers pay anywhere from $10 to $40 per lead. (I make the
data look very tempting. Wink Really pisses them off.)

Better not bulk email a couple hundred people.
