Hello, Unsure of where to start, maybe someone could help me with what
questions I should be asking. We are trying to figure out how much to
charge for banner advertising on our site. Do banner advertisers
typically pay monthly fees? Does a typical banner rotate per each
visit to a different advertiser? What are some examples of fees
charged?

Thanks for any advice or any suggestions as to other questions I should
be asking, - Dave

Hi Dave,

It depends on your site, your traffic and the quality of your traffic.

Google Adwords charge from £0.04ukp per click, but this depends on the
Keywords used.

As an owner of an online shop, I wouldn't wish to try the "flat fee"
approach without some good assurances on expected traffic.

Could you offer a "Sponsored by..." section? If you have a popular
site, you may find companies willing to sponsor an area of your site.
On a previous site I've been involved with, this sparked a lot of
interest and some sections had a small bidding war!

In essence, would the cost of advertising on your site repay itself in
sales?

What do your competitors/peers do?
