I want to open an internet shop which has a database and a paypal for
payment or something similiar with that. My friend suggested to use: apache
(for server), mysql (database), php (for webdesign), and paypal to accept
payment. This would be a very simple website. the only problem is I don't
know how to design a database to automate the transactions. anyone can help
me with idea what progamme should I use and how to build a website for
transactions?

You can find numerous shopping carts that will work on shared web space. that
way you don't have to worry about the server configuration.

If you don't want to go the development route and need something more
web-based, try looking at: <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.thatsmynet.com/goemerchant.asp" target="_blank">http://www.thatsmynet.com/goemerchant.asp</a>

Hi Deron,

the whole solution for your web store is probably much more simple
than you think. You may want to try the following service. It allows
you to define many different products, setup individual shipping and
taxes and they have also very powerful marketing module.

You will need a website - the service will help you to create online
store (the back end). It contains the database - you wouldn't have to
use mysql.

Just define all the products you are selling (you can import them from
any external source that can save the data in comma delimited format).
Then you just link to specific product links from your website and
your store is ready to receive orders. Shopping cart is easy to use
and it is easy to use any of many credit card processing companies
including paypal. You can set up automatic thank you emails, it will
maintain the list of your clients for you so you can send them a
newsletter or special offer emails in the future. You can also use
their affiliate module to help marketing your product - this part is
really very powerful. I was truly amazed bu the list of features they
offer. Price is very affordable and they offer different packages -
you do not have to use all the features if you do not need them.

Their support team is very responsive and helpful and they should be
able to help you set up a solution that fits your needs.

Sign up for one free month and try to create your store using their
system. If you do not like it you just don't use it. And even if you
do not use it, it will probably give you many great ideas which you
will use if you decide to develop your own system.

Check the following link:

If you have any questions, please ask - I could even help you with the
store setup.

Best wishes,
Rado

To setup an online store your best using a proper credit card processing
system, try something like WorldPay or Protex because it can look VERY
amature when your ecommerce site is using something like PayPal.

As for the shopping cart system have a look at our solution
