New to IIS 6.0 under win server 2003, I have the web server running fine, but
am not able to restrict access to a set of authorized users. Can someone
please help with this simple issue?

I selected properties on folder and turned off the allow anonymous. It
still lets anyone have access. Even if it did not, I cannot determine where
to add a list of authorized users.

Thank you for possible help in solving this.

Thank you Tom. I suppose I am just being "dense." I think I am familiar
with most of the settings ... what I am not seeing is how to 1) set up an
authorized user id on the server and 2) how to associate that user with a
particular folder.

I turned off 'anon user' on a folder at issue so only 'integrated win auth'
is on. But anyone can still gain access. On the pages that you referenced,
again thank you very much!, I cannot how to add the user & link the id to the
folder.

Can you take me one more step? Thank you.

It's all about setting the NTFS file/folder permissions, which is explained
in greater detail here:

The docn says to do the following ... in IIS manager, right click folder to
secure, and then choose "Permissions".

I see no Persmissions tab or options. I do not know where to go as a next
step.

Thank you for any thoughts.

NTFS permissions can also be set using Windows Explorer. Right click on the
file or folder and select Properties.

Is the drive formatted as NTFS? Also, the NTFS permissions can be
found in My Computer, right click on the folder and click the Security
tab.
