Has anyone had any experinece with Yahoo Hosting?
I have a client who has a domain there and has given me access to the
admin section but there is no way to transfer the domain to a real
registrar like GoDaddy.
I guess their hosting includes the yearly domain name registration but
they don't make it easy to transfer the domain name. >> Stay informed about: Yahoo Hosting |

Do a whois - they may own the domain name.
In general, if you want hosting, don't go to a web directory.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Yahoo Hosting |

It's difficult, and you have to dig around, but it can be done. I
switched 2 domains for a customer last year.
Be aware that they register domains through some place out in Australia,
and that is where you have to go to switch the domains, not through
Yahoo's panel. Do a whois, dig around and you'll find the well-hidden
registrar.
Yahoo will not cancel web hosting until you call the same day you want
it cancelled. Make sure you do this, or your client's credit card will
continue to be charged.
Have fun, and steer people away from Yahoo.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Yahoo Hosting |

Try Registernames (http://www.registernames.com). Click on
the transfer tag on the top. Next, click on the link near the bottom
of the page (Transfer your domain name to RegisterNames.com now!).
From there, you just follow the instructions. Complete your
transaction and they will transfer the domain name for you.
Makes it easy. And their prices are not bad, either.

I guess price is subjective but with all due respect, I don't feel
that $14.95 (What registernames.com charges) for a domain transfer
warrants a statement such as "And their prices are not bad, either". I
guess if you've been accustomed to paying more then this it might be a
deal. For me, I register and transfer with EpicDomains.com which
charges $7.75 for the transfer and $8.75 for a new registration. Both
give you pretty much the same bennies. $14.95 seems a bit much in
comparison.

There must be a way to transfer it, as long as your client owns the actual
domain.

Well, I tried. I even tried to post from there but they wouldn't let
me. Might have been the electric storm or my poor Ozzienglish. (I got
laughed at for how I pronounced Aukland and it isn't even in
Australia. Sheesh!)
They've named a highway after him!
See ya later mates!

Speaking of Brucie, where has he been the past several days? Did I miss
something?
