I have a Axis webcam on http://w1.978.telia.com/~u97802964/webcam.html
that a friend of mine say he can't see the picture when using Opera.
For the webcam on the above link, I added a <noscript> also (with a
direct link to the picture) so I can see it in Mozilla, even with
Javascript disabled. But he still can't see it.
At a matter of fact, on the most webcam sites my friend visits, he
can't see the pictures with Opera. So my question is if anybody have
an idea why he can't see the webcams?

Excellent cam! I have never seen one before that is virtually in real
time.
Is that a view from your house?
When I looked at it in IE6 I was prompted to download something from Axis,
which I ignored, so didn't see the picture.
When I viewed it with Firefox, I didn't get the prompt, but saw the picture
straight away.

Opera 7.50 (Win2K)- I see the image but just when it's almost downloaded
it's replaced with white space and then starts to download again - it's
a little difficult to see what's in the picture as it keeps being
removed! If you're doing the refresh with script it's possible to
download the next frame whilst still showing the previous, then only
once it's downloaded do you show the next frame (it's a frame buffer).
Just an idea.

Opera apparently doesn't support the used "Motion JPEG" format.
A workaround could be to display a "static" image and refresh the page
regularly.

Thank's
There are quite a lot of them out there. But still, most webcam's
reload new pictures every ? sec, every ? minute or even less. I think
it depends on the view, but I think it's dull with "static" images for
a view where you can see trafic, people or other kind of moving
objects. More fun with "real time"
> Is that a view from your house?
No. The camera is located (less than) one mile from my house, in a
window at the "Town Hall" (municipality administration). I just
"borrowed" the script for my page (they know I did because I
wanted to give some "presentation" to what is shown, that they don't have.
You can se a bigger picture on <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://195.196.36.242/view/view.shtml" target="_blank">http://195.196.36.242/view/view.shtml</a>
> When I looked at it in IE6 I was prompted to download something from Axis,

Yeah, that's one of those damn IE thingy's I don't like
But it's harmless to do, and you do it only ones for all Axis Cams you
can visit in the future. Still less downloading than other Cams I'll
seen in "erlier days" sometime.
The other thing about IE I don't like or even understand, is that IE
need the script (with the OBJECT ID and ActiveX) badly to view the
pictures.
> When I viewed it with Firefox, I didn't get the prompt, but saw the picture
> straight away.
That's the good things with Mozilla software
As I said, I can se it in Mozilla even with scripting disabled, when I
have the image link in the <nopscript> tag.
BTW, The upcoming weekend we have a big fair here, and you can see
some of the activities with the cam, that takes place in the sundial
surroundings

Yeah, it's cute. Traffic is increasing now, cars and people moving
around, you can even see the clouds moving.

Here in Mozilla I had a problem: For a couple seconds the image was OK,
and then I got the "If image doesn't display reload page" message. After
reload it works fine now.
Too bad there's no sun, so the sundial doesn't really work all that well.

That happends some time for me too, and if I leave the page up for
some time I must reload it again. So I guess Mozilla don't catch up
with the upload every second and stop the upload if it get to busy?
Or maybee it's the connection to the camera server?

Yeah, on clear sunshine it's beatyful! And this time of year you can
see the sun just above roofs in the background, late in the evening if
there is no clouds (upper right corner is north).
A week ago the sun was little higher and bigger, so the shine made it
difficult to see the sundial in the middle of the night

Quite a lot of bicycles, and people pushing prams.
You could walk past and give us a wave!

I'll do that!
There is now two blue "boxes" in the middle of the picture. I can stay
between the boxes and wave to you at 14.00 hours local time (13.00
London time)
The "boxes" is there only for the weekend, if they are not moved to an
other place. A lot of people will need them after drinking several
bears at the fair

I don't think they were there when I first viewed it earlier.
