Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

The website I have created and stored in my C:\Inetpub\wwwroot directory is unavaible. I am using IIS 5.1 and I have port fowarding on my router to foward port 80 to the Web hosting machine. I have unchecked the Internet Connection Firewall Box. I know my external IP address. I do not know what other settings would be restricting access. I CAN remote desktop in to the machine from anywhere by using a different external port number that I fowarded internally to 3389.

I have tried the following:
where xxx is the external IP address and yyy is the internal IP address
http://xxx/
http://xxx:80/
http://xxx:80/index.htm
http://xxx:80;yyy:80/ -- causes invalid syntax error
http://xxx:80;yyy:80/

Most broadband ISPs block port 80 - try a different port.
The proper format is: <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://externalipaddress:port." target="_blank">http://externalipaddress:port.</a>

That was the answer, such a simple thing. I wish I knew that earlier.
