| I used to use WS_FTP LE (free version)
Having just looked on the ipswitch.com site, It now looks
as though there is no longer a free version.
Any recommendations on which to use would be appreciated.

In a recent thread on this topic, there were a bunch of recommendations
for FileZilla. >> Stay informed about: WS_FTP LE alternative? |

ago.

If your still using IE 6, you can use it as an ftp client.

You mean the publish function? That's not FTP.

Maybe he meant the native Win app 'Windows Explorer' with its FTP GUI?

I have always used WSFTP lite, but after someone recently recommended
FileZilla, I have found it very nice to use, and now its my default. I
highly recommend FileZilla. >> Stay informed about: WS_FTP LE alternative? |

smartFTP is free, as is PSFTP, both are good. You can also use the fttp
client in zend (personal edition still free) and staroffice (free) comes
with an ftp client.
Probably lots more out there but that will do for a taste:-) >> Stay informed about: WS_FTP LE alternative? |

Thanks all,
As I will be using it for semi commercial use, I have taken the 30
day evaluation of WS_FTP pro.
I like it allready, and will probably buy it at the end of the 30 days. >> Stay informed about: WS_FTP LE alternative? |
