What's WSWB...never heard of it.

Pay $360 plus for dreamweaver or use a text editor.

In your case WYGIWYPF. What You Get Is What You Pay For.

Go on, have a go yourself, bugger it up and then pay someone else to
sort it out. It'll probably cost you the new house and a lovely little
cottage in the country.

What do you need to change exactly?

If you're just updating some of the text, open the page up in notepad
and change it there. Then just FTP to the server.

If you want something complicated, look around for a cheaper designer. I
hear India have plenty.

Editing a pre-made site in a WYSINWYG editor has the potential to
completely screw it up. Especially if you try to use Frontpage.

Don't even consider Dreamweaver. We see so many thousands of shite
sites created by amateurs with dreamweaver. Far better if you want a
quick and dirty solution that's not too dirty, is Namo Webeditor, or
Hot metal, or even try the free NVU.

And before anyone flames me about how "powerful" dreamweaver is, may I
offer the analogy of a 14 year old boy, with no experience, driving a
souped up Ford Cosworth around busy streets.....

He's/she's too busy for all the above...give the guy or gal a break!

If they're here asking for programs to make small editing changes, it's
logical to assume they have little experience in the field.

Let him/her pay the 360, spend a week learning the menus, another week
trying to understand the code and another week figuring out how to get it
all from his/her machine to his/her web site.

God only knows what he/she means by a "little editing" and the suggestion the
fellow is charging too much money.

Myself, I use jed for virtually eveything...and you're right about
dreamweaver.

In three weeks he can learn enough HTML to make small edits using Notepad.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I own the server my friend , I used to be quite proficient but Im not
the one who will be doing all the work , namo looks ok for basic stuff ,
dream weaver is to steep a curve and thanks for suggesting nvu , looks
in its infancy but has potential . May I ask why so bitter about my
request ?. have you been guilty of the same sin as has our ex employee
?.
( yes I fired him an hour ago)
Thanks to all for your help

Front page :_)
wash your mouth out ...
I will remove most of the flash and other rubbish (padding) that was
added by the former web master , he subscribed to knowledge is power , I
figure he who pays the bills wins :_)
Namo seems to be usable with ease ,
Tnx

HTML is easy I learned it within two weekends, and about a month or so to
memorise all tags. To practise I used a book : HTML Complete, Second
edition. To learn basic CSS I used a book :HTML Style Sheets Quick Reference
by Rob Falla. I spend about three weekends to practice all styles included
in the book. Now creating a website is easy. The most difficult part of that
is my English, so I need a good writers help.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Newfangled rubbish.

I'll have my syntax unhighlighted, thank you. Any other way is just
cheating.

Heavens, yes. I can't stand GUI editors. Give me a Wordstar-compatbile
text editor working in 80x25 text mode any day (honestly!)
