Ah, by "very cool, funky" you really mean very broken 
I get a white page. When I allow flash to run (I assume that is what you are
using) I get a useless spash page. After I dismiss this I get a page where
the layout is broken because you have neglected to test it with differing
font sizes.

Hey you!, There's nout wrong with my site! My returns went through the roof
when I built this. I consider a web site your shop window, People can look
and if they don't like they will go and look else where. That's terrible,
having a go at my site. Shame on you!

Your site is boring and typical amateur Dreamweaver. Splash pages are so
1990s.
I looked at tropicalaftermath.co.uk for a few seconds and quickly
determined that it was run by eight year olds.
If you don't want someone to "have a go" at your site, you're posting in
the wrong group. It happens as a matter of protocol here.

You are posting in a newsgroup of professional and long-time web designers,
who take the time out of their day to review sites posted here for critique
and improvement.
Chances are, if someone has taken the time to give you constructive
criticism on your site, you have just received professional advice on how
to make it *better and more profitable*. Don't expect to come in here and
tell people that you have made the cat's pyjamas of websites and not
receive critical review.

Very slick, the sheer quality of the animation and graphics keep you
interested, but it's still a nightmare for broadband, and a no-go for
dialup.
