In the properties of your web site, click advanced out beside the IP address. Here, you can type in your host header in the following formats (note if the site
responds on mulitple names, you can have multiple host headers).
www.yourdomain.com
test.yourdomain.com
yourcomputername
Note there are no "http:// or
https://" listed in these fields; literally just the fqdn or a netbios name can work internally.
Thank you. I hope this information is helpful.

| I have Sharepoint and a virtual host running on a windows
| 2k3 server. I have made a dns entry for both sites and
| both sites are running on the same ip address.
|
| How can I configure IIS to capture the url and redirect
| the user to the virtual host website OR the sharepoint
| portal? I am very new at this so the more detail given the
| better. I have read things about HTTP Headers but don't
| understand what they are or how to use them.
