Hey folks,
My users are starting to put a heavy demand on my standalone IIS 5.0 server
which is in a workgroup role. To simplify security managment of multiple
accounts requiring directory access to and protect data, I have attempted to
move one of the websites content from my webserver into a redundant storage
array on a server that is a domain member. I was able to succesfully connect
to the remote directory on the member server through the IIS console on the
webserver by specifying specific credentials for that share using the
'connect as' button under the Home Directory tab. In the Directory Security
Tab for that website I edited the anonymouns access credentials to use the
same account information as well ( I did try to connect w/o this step also).
However, when I attempt to connect via a web browser to that website's
content, I am always prompted for security credentials. This shouldn't be
happening with anonymous access? I have even tried using various security
credentials to acess the site, to no avail. I have checked and unchecked the
Basic Authentication box under Auth Mehtods for the website and specified the
domain that file server resides in... Nada. Has anyone had experience with
this issue?
thanks!
