From ICANN:

"Given the magnitude of the issues that have been raised, and their
potential impact on the security and stability of the Internet, the DNS and
the .com and .net top level domains, VeriSign must suspend the changes to
the .com and .net top-level domains introduced on 15 September 2003 by 6:00
PM PDT on 4 October 2003. Failure to comply with this demand by that time
will leave ICANN with no choice but to seek promptly to enforce VeriSign's
contractual obligations."

Very interesting. They mention a couple of times that Verisign has to
"suspend these changes pending further evaluation and study".

I wonder after this evaluation and study if we will see it back!?

I doubt it. Looks like ICANN is not playing around with them on this issue.

Hmmm .... not very clear what I was getting at.

The first URL failed to load, so I thought the OP was demonstrating that
the .com "sitefinder" was no longer operational.

So I 'made up' a .com address to check, and sitefinder worked.

Of course, I had not seen the article, so I didn't realise the OP was
actually posting the URL to it.

There .... as if anyone cared anyway?
