Hello Webmasters,

Possibly a bit of a newbie question... I recently sent an email to a friend
and got the following response:

SMTP error from remote mailer after initial connection:
host bla.bla.bla.com [123.456.789.000]: 500 access denied; your IP is
listed by rbl-plus.mail-abuse.org

(Names and IPs changed to protect the inncocent, but they do have an account
with telstra bigpond in Oz).

I typed in my domain's IP address into (http://rbls.org/) and it came back
with nil returns.

Any ideas as to how this could happen (btw http://rbl-plus.mail-abuse.org)
doesn't exist!

Thanks in Advance.

Billy

Look up your current IP address at <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://mail-abuse.org/cgi-bin/lookup." target="_blank">http://mail-abuse.org/cgi-bin/lookup.</a>

The problem is at your end, not his. Probably there's someone with an
account at your provider with an open mail relay. Their ip has got
listed. They've disconnected. You've connected and picked up their old
IP address. Disconnect and reconnect until you get a different IP.

Probably...<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
