Hi there

I'd like to know how to configure Apache 1.3.29 so that when I type
http://www.127.0.0.1 or http://127.0.0.1, it goes and check the /www/ folder
in the documentroot. Same for http://forum.127.0.0.1 ... I'd like it to
point to /forum/ folder in the document root. Is there a way to do that?

Thanks

You can do it by URL-rewriting with mod_rewrite or by virtual hosts
and fixing your hosts file. But <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.127.0.0.1" target="_blank">www.127.0.0.1</a> isn't a really good
hostname, you'd better decide about a correct hostname first.

You can also use dynamic VHost and never touch again your configuration
file.

See the documentation about VHost or mod_rewrite on <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.apache.org" target="_blank">www.apache.org</a>
