Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration (more info?)

Dear Experts,

under SuSE 9.0 (Kernel 2.4) I have installed an Apache 2.0.47 and Tomcat 4.1.27.
The Apache is listening on Port 80 and Tomcat on Port 8080, both installed with
YaST - so far: no big deal.
The last two days I searched through the Internet, how to get the Apache using
Tomcat for Servlets and JSP.
I found several descriptions, how to configure Apache, Tomcat and JK2; but under
SuSE 9.0 everything appears
to be different as it was provided by the apache-team, especially the location
of the configfiles.
So I would be very happy, if someone had an idea, what to do. Perhaps somebody
knows, where I could find a
tutorial, where thoughts have been given to the special situation (configuring
Apache working with Tomcat
under SuSE 9.0).

Many thanks,

Michael

First, get the JK connector for your version of Apache and install or
compile it, second, configure your apache to use it editing the
configuration file of Apache.

If it isn't on SuSE site, you won't find it.

As an alternative, just remove the suse-specific packages of Apache and
TomCat and install the standard one from <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.apache.org." target="_blank">www.apache.org.</a> Then you can
go by the book.
