I think it depends on the usability of the app. After working with several
carts, my wishlist would be:
*Easy customization (via header/footer, CSS and/or PHP, w/o having to edit
15 different files)
*Easy to mod for needs (w/o having to edit five separate files)
*Easy to update
*Extensive payment/delivery options (check, cash, money order, cc; delivery,
post, pickup)
*Integration w/financial software would be nice
*Language files separate (English if I want it, French if I want it - but as
separate packages with an option to join them in a bilingual package if
needed)
*Support!
*Good image support - png, jpg AND gif, not just one or the other; also
thumbnail support
*Custom pricing options (size --> price, etc.)
*Compact tables
*Built-in regional support (i.e., states for the US, provinces for Canada,
counties for England, etc.) with postal zones if possible
