Slow apache server

I am running Server: Apache/1.3.29 (Unix) mod_ssl-2.8.16-1.3.29 on
SunOS 5.8 Generic_108528-27 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-4
compiled with :
Configured with: ../configure --disable-nls --with-as=/usr/ccs/bin/as
--with-ld=/
usr/ccs/bin/ld
Thread model: posix
gcc version 3.3

The problem is that I can d/l files very fast using the https connection
but when I use the regular http connection everything is slow - dog slow.

Any hints would be appreciated!

Have you tried starting it with SNCA? <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.hejazi.org/solaris/snca/" target="_blank">http://www.hejazi.org/solaris/snca/</a>
