Hi,

I am currently in the look out for shopping carts. Have you found any
good leads?
I basically want something that will upgrade my existing site at a
reasonable price. I explored sites such as Yahoo, Bigstep.com and
freeMerchant. I just want something that will hold me over for the
next 18 months before I put into place a more elaborate site.

Any help would be appreciated. Also does anyone know where I could
find shopping carts reviews?

I currently use Instantestore.com, they have an amazing amount of
features, are easy to use, and have pre-set designs to choose from,
the pricing is 50.00 a month with a free trial. You also might want to
check out goemerchant.com<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Howdy Karla,

Hit <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.authorizenet.com/alliances/carts_cert.php" target="_blank">http://www.authorizenet.com/alliances/carts_cert.php</a> for a nice sized
list of certified shopping carts. You'll find my BIZyCart there.

The best review is to look at each one of them yourself. Move on if you
can't find a live demonstration or nothing but screen shots. You should
also find a list of their clients you can check reference with and see how
their site works.

Thanks, Chris <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.bizynet.com" target="_blank">www.bizynet.com</a> and <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.bizycart.com" target="_blank">www.bizycart.com</a>

Those are some real honest tips. Others to watch out for include
portability. It can be a big time pain if you are tied to a shopping
cart that is being hosted where you have no control. Many carts are
programs that you can host anywhere with data files that you can just
pack up and leave with if you are unhappy with the hosting situation.

I also personally worry about open source shopping carts. I am a big
fan of open source, but when other people's money and identity are
involved, open source MIGHT be leaving an avenue open. Of course open
source has the best price, but be careful with your customers data

I am currently using osCommerce for my shopping cart solution. It is
very versatile. Have a look at a site that is going live tomorrow:
