Does anyone have a source of basic IIS7 setup steps? I'm relatively new to
IIS and need some help starting to host my first web site.

Any direction will be much appreciated...

How did you conclude that you have an IIS setup problem? Did you
search through %windir%\IIS7.log and find errors? Did the component
installation or package manager end with obvious failures?

Or are you just having problems getting index.htm served? What exactly
are you having problems with?

You install IIS either using the Program control panel, or using the command
line package manager.

Beyond that, you need to tell us what you want to do with your
webserver/website before we can tell you what you need to configure. A
default install of IIS is enough to serve static web pages...

I did the install, but still am having no luck getting even a single
'index.htm' web site to work on this machine. I believe I have a IIS Setup
problem, but am having trouble finding a troubleshooting source for IIS...
