Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration (more info?)

Hi,

I see from the Apache manual that SetOutputFilter can be used in a
Directory block but not a Location block. Quite often I want to do the
filtering by location, though, e.g. for adding headers and footers to
areas of a site defined by the URL hierarchy. Is this possible, and if
not can someone explain why filtering by Location is considered bad /
not worth implementing?

Thanks!
Andy

I'd forgotten that "context directory" was actually a whole class of
containers; thanks! I have had trouble getting filters to work properly
in <Location> sections, though: maybe I'll come up with a minimal
concrete example and then see if anyone can explain what I'm doing
wrong Smile

Cheers,
Andy
