I am trying to set up a web server but have run into a bit of a snag.
I have a static IP address and my ISP allows servers to be run so they
DON'T block port 80.
My linux box is connected through a Linksys BEFSR41 router with port
forwarding to 192.168.1.103 which is the address of my web server.
I can look at the apache test page by typing localhost or 192.168.1.103
at the linux box but I can't get to the page at any of the other two
machines on my LAN, nor can anyone on the WAN get to my server.
I assumed it was the Linksys giving me problems by not properly
forwarding the ports BUT it does forward 21 because ftp works from
everywhere. Just to be sure I disconnected my Lan and connected the web
server directly to the WAN and still no joy.
I check the firewall in red had and it is configured to pass all
traffic, I checked the httpd.conf file and it appears to be correct, I
checked to see if the server was listening to 80 and it is.
I am now beginning to think it has something to do with permissions
that are set to the www directory.
Does anyone have any thought on this matter, it is getting kinda late
here, my eyes are not working so good anymore and I am tired but hate
to give up.
HELP
Thanks!!
