Server Application Error

I am using IIS version 5.1
windowos XP
When trying to run asp code on localhost I get "Server
Application Error"
It happened in two computers that I am using.
On one of the machine I could get it back to work after
removing IIS, clearing the directory and reinstalling.
On the other machine I cannot get it back to work.
Any suggenstion? What might have gone wrong?
