Help!

I can't seem to find anywhere on the net something to
detail how to configure the SMTP server in IIS as a
Backup MX. I am right with the DNS entries, I just want
to check that the Backup MX is going to automatically
forward email to the Primary, when it comes back online.

Under the IIS config, I set up a new Remote domain. I
also allowed incoming mail to be relayed to that domain
(the Primary mail server can deal with all the mail).

Is this correct? What have I missed??
(what did I get right?? Razz)

Thanks,
Ian H.

Did this about a month ago for my own servers, both 2003
webserver editions. The main server has Pop3 running as
well. To try it out I waited 24 hours for the DNS to
update the world then just stopped the SMTP service on my
main server. I sent an email from Yahoo , waited 5
minutes, started the SMTP service on the main server and
checked the emails headers. The headers showed it had
gone to my backup mail server direct from Yahoo. Then it
had transferred to my main server. My biggest suprise was
it had transferred automagically since I thought I'd have
to set something else up. It really is that easy Smile
