I am confused by the role of WEBDAV in win 2003 and its assocation with IIS.

Is this a tool used to assign permissions to certain directories within the
wwwroot web publishing folder or does it have another role/

Additionally, do apps like IISprotect essentially do the same thing?

Appreciate any focused advice on utilizing this area or avoiding it Smile

WebDAV is an alternative method for transferring files. When using DAV, you can assign an SSL certificate to the site, and now you can enable BASIC
authentication and you have secured file transfer. I am not familiar with IISprotect and its functionality.

Thank you. I hope this information is helpful.
