Post subject: Replicating Site Definition to Failover Server / Web Farm
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Hi.

In Windows 2003 IIS 6.0, we can use iiscnfg.exe to batch copy Web Site definition a secondary server.

We are trying to automate replication of content / site definition to a secondary server via batch scripts. On our site, we have almost daily changes to virtual directories, index server catalog directory inclusion/exclusions, and Application pools. I am looking for a way to automate copying of these specific settings to the stand-by server.

1. Is there anyway to synchronize just the virtual directory definitions under a site to a second server, in batch mode?
2. Is there a similar process for copying Specific Application Pools to a second computer, in batch mode?
3. How about a way to automatically copy Index Server definitions for a Catalog?

Thank you
