The site consists of around 2500 static HTML pages and less than 2000
images (mostly jpgs) comes to less than 50MB disk space. A fair amount
of the images include nudity, so most hosts would consider this an
adult site. Also want to add other sites that are much more mature
than this one.
I also want to add further site (will be a lot over time, probably 50
plus) but assume 10 for starters. Two sites that are ready to upload
include 8000 static html files and around 14000 images (mostly jpgs
again adult) and takes around 500MB diskspace. The other site isn't
complete, but is expected to be 10s of thousands of pages when
complete (will be added over a very long period of time) and will be
99.999% html pages, estimate several gigs of diskspace.
I would say I need at least 1GB now and 5GB of diskspace in the future
and 120GB of bandwidth per month now and upgradable for the future.
Bandwidth could easily double or triple due to more search engine
traffic over the next year (the sites just over 1 year old so still
plenty of growth and then there are the other sites).
I don't need anything fancy, most of what I make is designed for
Google, (text is best

), so a standard server will probably be
fine, it's the bandwidth that's the main factor. Also looking for an
unmanaged server (keep costs low).
Root dedicated servers (think that's what you call shared hardware)
might be an option.
Any recommendations, don't forget there will be adult sites and some
hosts charge a lot more for adult!
We are in the UK and though around 75% of customers are UK based most
of our visitors aren't (from google and engines using googles
database). Does it matter where the server is located? I see that UK
prices tend to be higher than US etc...
Thanks for any advice.
David
