Someone please comment on all of the RSS buzz in the ecommerce field.
Does this method really offer any type of advantage or benefit to
website owners? Is anyone actually using RSS to increase sales or
google page pr?

Howdy Folks,

To remove some confusion on this visit <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.npr.org/help/rss-faq.html" target="_blank">http://www.npr.org/help/rss-faq.html</a>

This is talking, yet again, about more surplus window dressing added to what
can be done with plain ol' well coded 3.2 HTML. Every time you add
unnecessary enhancements, you end up losing customers. Keep your web pages
simple and compatible with all browsers if you want to sell products and
services.

If you must have a Cadilac (when a Ford gets you to the grocery store more
efficiently) as an ego trip and you don't mind parting with a percentage of
your sales, go for it!

Drop by <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://theparisapartment.com" target="_blank">http://theparisapartment.com</a> if you'd like to see an example of a
very classy looking web site with "HTML 3.2 Final" as the DocType. Try it
minimized to 640 and see what happens. See if you can find any Java script.

Thanks, Chris <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.bizynet.com" target="_blank">www.bizynet.com</a> and <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.bizycart.com" target="_blank">www.bizycart.com</a>

It think it's still too early to tell. We've added it to our site
(www.abcoffice.com), but have just a few subscribers so far and our PR
with Google has stayed the same.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I don't really see how it can benefit eCommerce yet. The only thing I
could think of is hardware enthusiasts who watch hardware prices.
Anandtech is using to hook it's readers up with the cheapest hardware
prices.
