I have a web script that queries IIS 6.0 for a list of Virtual Directories. Simple script source was found on Microsoft's site. This script works fine unless BITS is installed. If BITS is installed, it returns no vdirs at all. If BITS is removed right after it's added, my script will work again. If you wait too long to remove it?, the script will never work again. At least so far, anyway. My question is this, has anyone ever dealt with this or does anyone have any suggestions as to why it fails in the first place.

If you install bits on a 2003 server, run an iis vdir script, it will return nothing. You can then immediately remove bits and the script will start working. However, if you reboot after installing bits. Your iis vdir scripts will never work again even after you uninstall BITS!
