Pull Content from other websites

All,

I have one thing to check with you people.

Is it possible to pull the content from the Yahoo! or anyother website
& neatly or reformat & publish on my website ?

For this do i need to have a seperate agreement with Yahoo! or is it
legally permissible ??

Hard question - there is no single answer.

It's possible but not easy to "pull" content, so it's rarely done these
days. It's much easier if the source website is already "pushing"
their content through Atom or RSS newsfeeds. If they are, then
searching on these terms will answer your question.

As to the legality of this, then generally if they push it to you, then
it's either encouraged or it is at least clearly described what you can
do with it. If you try and pull it from their site by non-newsfeed
means then they're not encouraging you to do this and they will quite
likely object strongly to you doing it, possibly by legal means. In
most cases, even where they guard their content jealously, they'll
happily sell it to you.

So most of the time, it depends on the site and it's obvious by how
much technical assistance they've already given you.
