Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

When I try running my ASP.net application. It displays a "Server application
unavailable" message in the browser as....

-----------------------------
Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is
currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser
to retry your request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific
request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server.
Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.
--------------------------------------

When I look in the application event log, for asp.net, I see the message....
------------------------------
aspnet_wp.exe (PID: 296) failed to startup because the asynchronous pipe
could not be initialized. Error code: 0x800700e7
-------------------------------

My application was working fine, and there has been no change to the ASPNet
User, Application Files etc.

I tried restarting IIS and then the server machine itself to no avail. I
then reinstalled the .NET Framework and it still results in the same
message. Before I begin the arduous task of reinstalling IIS, etc., has
anyone come across this problem before, or have any idea as to what causes
it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

regards,

Chris.

Hey Chris,
Is this a problem only with the aspnet worker process? Can you get regular
asp and html pages to work ?
Also, I doubt if installing IIS will fix the problem because the error
seems to be coming form the OS. The code 0x800700e7 translates to "All
pipe instances are busy."
You might want to check with the ASP.NET group or the Windows group before
you decide to reinstall IIS or anything else.
