I am trying to upgrade Apache HTTP Server 1.3.29 to 1.3.33 on a
Windows 2000 Server using the download
apache_1.3.33-win32-x86-no_src.exe. When executed, it detects that I'm
running 1.3.29 and asks if I want to upgrade. During the install I get
the error message "Product: Apache HTTP Server -- Error 1316. A
network error occurred while attempting to read from the file
C:\DOCUME~1\burnsj\Local Settings\Temp\_isD\Apache HTTP Server .msi"

Thanks for any help,
Jim Burns

I am trying to upgrade Apache HTTP Server 1.3.31 to 1.3.33 on a
Windows 2000 Workstation using the same download file name as Jim
from several download sites - always verifying the downloaded MD Sums.
Part 1 of the installation goes fine (installer setup). Part 2 of
the installation (installation wizard) consistantly fails about
2/3 the way through the progress indication identically as Jim
described below (other than his C:\DOCUME~1 should have identified
\Apache HTTP Server 1.3.29.msi & mine has 1.3.31).
Thanking You In Advance,
Mike O'Neill

I tried doing a repair install of 1.3.31, but got same failure when I
tried the upgrade to 1.3.33. I have created a work around. I am doing
the upgrade as Administrator on Win2K Professional. In part 1 of the
install, a temp directory is created at C:\Documents and Settings\
Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\{some file name} that has the file
Apache HTTP Server 1.3.33.msi in it. Before pushing Next on the
Installation Wizard window, I copied the above 'msi' file and renamed
it Apache HTTP Server 1.3.31.msi (since I was upgrading from 1.3.31).
Then I went back & pushed the Next button on the Installation Wizard.
All went well after that...
