Does anyone know an IP address that one can point a domain or
subdomain to and automatically get a 'parked' or 'under construction'
message?

If you know another way to do this, I'd like to hear about it.

I can park your domains on my server for free. I have an "Under
construction page" It just has a linkback to my home page. you can
check it out at:

Most registrars will have a branded "under construction" or "coming
soon" type page as a default page for you until you set up your own
DNS or a hosting package with them. It's free advertizing for them.

If you want a "for sale" page or contact info, you *should* be able to
get that for free with your paid registration as well (most places
offer online management, free email redirection, free domain
redirection, free parked and for sale pages, etc.) Places that charge
for "for sale" pages may offer free redirection services, so you can
just point that to a page on another site, a friend's site, or free
hosting service and you can control the content that way.

You shouldn't have to pay more than $10 for this for any .com, .net.,
or .org domain. Some country codes like .tv and .ca are more
expensive.

WARNING: Stay away from the "Domain Registry of Canada" (DROC) and
"Domain Registry of America" (DROA) and Enom. They charge more than
double what the others charge, and have been on several government
sites and in court for misleading business practices and domain
slamming (http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2003/12/domainreg.htm).

Hope that helps.

Hi!

You can get a .com for $8.75 and transfer for $7.75 with all these
free faclities at http://www.SassyDomains.com/ :

Free! Domain Forwarding!
Free! Domain Masking!
Free! Change of Registrant!
Free! Parked page w/ domain!
Free! Domain Name Locking!
Free! Domain "For Sale" Page!
Free! 100 Email Forwards!

I have also came to know about some more low cost domain name
registration providers but they dont' provide these all the above free
faclities. It is important that we should spend time to find out good
domain registrar with necessary faclities. Now a days that it is
important that websites should provide help either through email or
online chat or Tel.

Thanks.
