Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Does anyone know why this doesn't work correctly? I
installed my certificate and can access OWA if I use
https://mydomain.com/exchange. The below Queue article
will force an automatic redirect of
http://mydomain.com/exchange to
https://mydomain.com/exchange.

On my server it does not work. From a friends company it
does. There look like they are setup identically...

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 279681

Thanks,
Scott

When you say, "it does not work" - what happens?
a) nothing
b) you get an error (what is the error?)
c) something happens, but not what you expect?

Also, what version of OWA, and what version of IIS?

Cheers
Ken

It puts up an error saying "Secure Channel Required
This Virtual Directory requires a browser that supports
the configured encryption options."

IIS 5.0
Exchange 2000

It should just put in an "s" according to the tech
article...

Scott

I think that the server is actually redirecting to the SSL secured site, but
there is some kind of imcompatibility between what the browser supports, and
what the server is offering.

- Can the client machine in question reach the other secured site OK?

- Can you look in the HTTP logs (c:\winnt\system32\logfiles\<sitenumber>\)
for the server you are trying to reach, and post the HTTP status code (or
the whole log entry) for the failed request?

Cheers
Ken
