Post subject: Netscape 7 slower than IE6 under Win XP ?

Is it possible that under Windows XP Pro IE 6 loads pages faster than
Netscape 7 ? That's the impression I get. Did perhaps Microsoft build
some code into XP Pro which purposely slows down Netscape 7 and if so
what can one do to speed up Netscape 7 ?

I don't have this impression, they look equally fast on my system. Some
pages are displayed faster in IE, others in NS7.1. It could be related
to other things like IE6 being setup to use your ISP proxy while NS7 is
setup for a direct connection. If you use the first version 7.0 of
Netsape realease one year ago then it is possible since it is quite old
now and the rendering engine is much improved in 7.1.

I would say that is quite possible, knowing MS and their tricks. Or it
might just be that IE6 is better optimized given that both come from the
same shop.

Anyways I use 2000Pro, don't like XP so cannot comment.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I find them about equal, some say that one waits to render most of the
page at once and the other renders portions incrementally... depends on
the site, where you live, internet traffic blah this blah that..., I find
when even IE wont load a site or is slow/boggy for who knows what reason;
N7 will load it in a blink.
