Hi,

What exactly do you want to migrate? To enable ASP on IIS 6, follow this
webpage:

Thanks for the link and apologies for the slow reply.

I've got a suite of ASP scripts which run on IIS5 as 'Medium Pooled'
and which make use of a number of COM objects while exectuting. The
scripts access a database via ADO.

I was really hoping to find some documentation on anything which might
need changing in the ASP/COM's (either within the code or in the
configuration) in order to make it work on IIS6. If anyone knows of
any documenent along those lines I'd be interested to hear about it.

regards

richard.

Have you looked into IIS 5 Isolation mode on Windows Server 2003? Here's a
link to one site, but there are many pages with a lot of info available:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpguide/html/cpconiis60applicationisolationmodesoverview.asp" target="_blank">http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpgui...html/cp</a>

IIS 5 compatibility mode does basically undo all of the new security
benefits of IIS 6, and I strongly recommend trying your scripts before
changing the modes

IIS 6 has 2 modes to run in: WPIM (worker process isolation mode, which is the default on a clean install of w2k3, iis 6)
IIS 5 Isolation Mode, which "mimics" the IIS 5 architecture, in that you still have low, med, high app protection, and use of the iwam account for those
processes.

You probably want to test, note any errors, and go from there.

Thank you. I hope this information is helpful.
