Hi cman,
It depends on the version of Windows you are running.
For Windows 2003 server there is not really a limitation.server. We've
tested IIS 6 to 20K sites and beyond but once you get into the thousands of
sites, your limitations will be system resources. Concerning interfaces, we
generally test with up to 2,000 addresses on an interface and that works
fine.
Regarding Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000. What is the maximun number of
connections per NIC card for IP connections.
TCP/IP connections according to article 120642
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=120642 ), the default
number of connections for the TP/IP Stack is 0xFFFFFFFE. In theory, a
single NIC could support all of those connections ,it depends on a lot of
factors, like network media, available bandwidth, the NIC itself, the
driver for the NIC card, system processor, system memory, and what each
connection is doing.

Ralph
