Post subject: Mapping a Dllhost.exe to a specific website or group of websites
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Hi,

I've noticed on one of our web servers that the some of the dllhost.exe
files are taking up a great deal of memory. (Eg over 500MBs each when viewed
in taskmon). We have about 75 sites running on the server using mixed and
isolated modes.

Is there any (Hopefully) easy way of mapping which dllhost is mapped to
which website (through the .exe's PID)??

Kind regards,

Jeremy Byrski

Try downloading Process Explorer from Sysinternals.com, as that allows you
to view the details behind each process, and may give you the extra
information you require to determine which process belongs to which site.

Hi Keith.

I did actually try and use that... but its very tricky to try and see which
files the dllhost is accessing... I can't believe microsoft don't have a way
of showing which dllhost map to which websites!!!

Kind regards,

If you run M$ IIS dump tool it will display each dll host and which
site it is mapped to.
