I noted that my site log files seemed to end around 2/21/04. After checking my server I found that the drive where log files are stored is maxed out. How do you manage these log files? Is there a way in IIS to purge the oldest files based upon a maximum storage capacity that you can specify? I am feeling a little thick here since I can't seem to find it.

There's not a way to do this natively, so don't worry about not finding it. There are ways you can script this though. The ASPFAQ has a good script to do this here: http://www.iisfaq.com/default.aspx?View=A65&P=141

There are several ways and products to help you monitor disk space. One way is to use performance monitor. See KB article 299921 available here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=299921

Another solution would be to configure your IIS logging to use another server via ODBC. If you did that, you'd still need to monitor disk space on the database server.

Hope that helps.

Jeff is correct. There is not option in IIS for clearing out old logfiles,
you will have to do this manually or write a script as Jeff suggested to
take care of this.
