I have a 2 CPU Xeon processor server with a 6 GB Memory. Would like to know what is the maximum number of concurrent users who can access my application over the intranet / Internet.

Hi,

The best thing you can do is to stress test the webserver. It is *very*
difficult to give you an answer, because it depends on so many factors.

You have for example a tool here:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/itsolutions/intranet/downloads/webstres.asp" target="_blank">http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/its...tions/i</a>

and documentation:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.microsoft.com/technet/itsolutions/intranet/downloads/webtutor.asp" target="_blank">http://www.microsoft.com/technet/itsolutions/intranet/downloads/webtutor.asp</a>

i'm sure that you can find other tools by using google, and searching for
the string "stress test iis". Or maybe someone else can recommend other
tools?

That depends on what your web applications(s) are doing.

If you are serving plain HTTP pages (and images etc), then your network
bandwidth will be saturated well before you run into problems with webserver
resource constraints.

It is best if you do some load testing yourself.

Cheers
Ken
