KeepAlive: pros & cons

I've read in Apache docs about the KeepAlive directive. I looks like a very
interesting feature. However, in my httpd.conf file it is set to off by
default. Is there a reason for that? What should I take into account before
activating it?

you can safely turn it on. You might want to tune KeepAliveTimeout and
MaxKeepAliveRequests according to your load, but defaults are ok in
general (15 and 100)
